05 shocking deaths you haven't heard of
As you'd probably expect, researching the internet can find many lists and sites dedicated to people who have died suddenly and mysteriously. This is normal because it is human nature to want to understand the concept of death. We want concrete details so we can recreate and understand what our loved ones felt when they passed. Here are some of the celebrities, government officials, and historical figures you'll see on this list. Sometimes I find it a bit redundant because I've already heard all about these specific cases. I've compiled a list of 10 shocking deaths you may not have heard of.
05. Owen Hart (1965-1999)
He was a two-time Intercontinental Champion, a four-time World Tag Team Champion and the 1994 King of the Ring winner. On May 23, 1999, Hart was set to headline a pay-per-view event at Over the Edge. To make his entrance, Hart intended to push himself through the rafters of the stadium using a harness and rappel line. The original plan was for Hart to be "tangled" in the harness when he reached ring level, then suddenly release himself to fall flat on his face for comedic effect. Something went horribly wrong while performing the stunt, and when Owen was 78 feet in the air, the mechanism went off. He fell and landed chest-first on the top rope of the ring, dying almost instantly of internal bleeding and blunt force trauma to the chest. It was a complete surprise and a complete tragedy.
04. Judith Barsi (1978-1988)
Judith was born in Los Angeles, California in 1956 to two immigrants fleeing the Soviet occupation of Hungary. Since Barsi is a bit small for her age and has the advantage of being able to play the roles of small children, this soon became a reality. This helped boost her career and she soon became a television staple. In the 80s, he starred in more than 70 commercials. Barsi is probably best known for voicing the character Ducky in The Land Before Time. As Judith became more famous, her father developed a deep sense of manic jealousy and paranoia towards her. He suffered mental and physical abuse throughout his life. On July 27, 1988, Jozsef Barsi took a gun and killed Judith and her mother. Later, he started a fire by pouring gasoline on the bodies, himself and the house. Judith's tombstone reads "Our Concrete Angel - Yep Yep Yep," a reference to her character Ducky's catchphrase.
03. Bradley Nowell (1968-1996)
Nowell grew up in Long Beach, California and was an instant guitar hero. Legend claimed that if you played a tune for Bradley once, he could play the riff down to the last note. In 1988, Bradley formed Sublime with bassist Eric Wilson and drummer Bud Gaugh. Sublime was an influential group that combined reggae, hip hop and ska music behind an incredible guitar presence. They really helped pave the way for the punk rock movement in the 1990s. After the band's first two albums, Nowell became frustrated and depressed at being rejected by major record companies.
He went on a two-year "experience" of heroin, as he called it. He tried to justify his abuse by claiming that drugs aided his artistic creativity. With the release of 40 Oz to Freedom, the band soon signed with a major label, but by then Nowell was completely hooked. Things got so bad that he quickly started pawning his guitars for money, only to later buy them back. While on a world tour in 1996, Bradley Nowell was found dead in his bed from an accidental overdose of heroin, Valium and alcohol.
Jessica was born in Hercules, California and quickly fell in love with airplanes. He enrolled in pilot training and became one of the youngest children ever to fly. A 7-year-old boy decided to become the youngest person to fly a plane over the United States. He will be accompanied by his father and a flight instructor for his attempt. It was a national story and was labeled "Flying from Sea to Shining Sea." The plan was to break up the journey into parts, making numerous stops along the way. His flight was constantly followed by news agencies and general supporters. Minutes after takeoff from an airport in Wyoming, Cheyenne, his plane crashed during a heavy and sudden rainstorm. All on board were killed. It was concluded that the cause of the accident was the excessive weight of the plane and the decision not to continue the mission despite the bad weather conditions. His famous last words were "Do you hear the rain, do you hear the rain?"
1. Rajiv Gandhi (1944-1991)
In 1947, India got its independence. During this period, the Nehru-Gandhi family took control of the Indian National Congress. Indira Gandhi soon became the first woman Prime Minister of India. He had two sons, Rajiv and Sanjay Gandhi. Sanjay greatly influenced his mother's political decisions. Adhering to a strong socialist policy, India was not developing with the rest of the world. The country was economically isolated. He began to lead in a significantly different direction from his mother's socialism; he promoted economic liberalization. Unfortunately, on 21 May 1991, Thenmuli Rajaratnam, a member of the Freedom Tigers of Tamil Eelam, strapped a bomb to himself and detonated it as he bent down to touch Rajiv's feet (a term of respect among Hindus), killing him instantly. Since Rajiv's death, the Indian economy has become the second fastest growing economy in the world, creating thousands of jobs and opportunities for citizens. By 2009, nearly 300 million people, the equivalent of the entire US population, had been lifted out of extreme poverty because of Rajiv Gandhi and his stance on economic liberalization.
