Android Smartphone Mistakes to AVOID!
Let's know a quick stat Today, almost around 775.28 Crore people live in this world. Out of which, almost 5.7 Billion people use smartphone and out of them 4.66 Billion people are internet users. And each person spends around 21900 hours on their smartphone yearly on an average. Just imagine, so whenever your mom taunts you just show her this video. and those who flaunt their iphone a lot, tell them that 71.09% of the smartphone population in the world are android users and because of this Android becomes the worlds most popular smartphone operating system. But like uncle Ben used to say, with great power comes great responsibilities. So just like that, we Android users also have a big responsibility of taking care of our privacy and security. As the number one target of hackers is always Android but are we careful of this fact? No. And how will we take care of it when we don't even know how it happens. Isn't it? But don't you worry just watch this video til the end and only then you will get to know everything. So, if we are talking about taking care, then we should obviously know what mistakes are we doing. Due to which hackers get the loopholes that they can exploit to hack. Right? So these are 8 mistakes that we advertently or inadvertently make in our android smartphones which may help hackers or scammers.
So, Mistake number 1, Do not Uninstalling bloatwares. There are wide range of brands in Android, And to compete in the market, different brands bring different types of good features in their smartphones. and some brands push some unwanted guests too along with the good features, and we call them bloatwares. Basically these are pre-installed apps and some of us humble people let them stay in our phones. But these apps are no good and eats storage and takes phone permissions too. It causes risk in the phone stability, so whenever you buy a phone, uninstall bloatwares instantly, reduce the load on your phone man.
Mistake No. 2 Losing your phone. See some of us have a habit of forgetting after all we are humans, we do forget. There is nothing bad in it, just that your phone gets lost. Anyways, our phone has our personal data stored in it and nobody knows us better than our phones. So if phone gets lost or gets stolen by someone then it becomes a greater risk. the chances of your datas like, ID and passwords being leaked gets higher. So in order to prevent this from happening, we should always keep Google Find my Device turned on our phone, So that even if it gets lost, there is a bit of chance to get our phone back. and if our phone gets lost, we should quickly change the passwords of social media, google or any online platform it reduces the risks a bit.
and with that Mistake No. 3, Forgetting uninstalling unused applications. At times we install some apps but after the job is done, we don't uninstall them and leave them as it is and those apps run in the background consumes data and if that app has many of your phone's permissions then it has access to many things in your phone which obviously is not right, so if you don't use an app after installing or their purpose is done then just grow up dude, leave it, uninstall it as it will save storage and it won't have any risks.
Then Mistake No, 4 Do not Updating our passwords. A lot of us do this mistake. That we don't regularly change passwords of google account or any other online platforms. We should take this precaution everywhere, like we should keep changing our phones or laptops passwords as there remains a risk of phishing attacks or suppose your account is logged in some other device or you are using a password for long time and if it gets leaked due to some reason then your account is not safe even a bit, we should regularly change our passwords every 3 months. This is a safety guideline that we all must follow but we don't follow it.
There is another common mistake, which we always keep doing that is Mistake No. 5. getting apps from unknown sources, if you don't know much about apk files or apps, like how they work then i'd advise you not to install apps apps out of playstore, third party apps. Because, they are not safe max of the time for your phone and your privacy and it's not approved by google so there might be many problems in them or they aren't following safety guidelines. So, it will be better not to install such apps.
So with that let's move on to Mistake No. 6 Forget to turning off app installation from unknown sources. Lets say, you install third party apps outside playstore then first you have to confrim a permission before installing and it's called app installation from unknown sources most of us don't turn it off after installation is done, which creates another risk that is automatic installation of malwares and spywares from unknown sources. and this can really pose a great threat for your phone's data and personal information and if we talk about this, here comes
Mistake No. 7 Do not checking installed app list on settings. Usually when we surf internet, we navigate to many unsafe websites, you know what i mean to get third party apps or pirated movies and piracy is illegal and you should not do it. and these websites also have viruses, spywares and malwares, that secretly gets installed in your phone and some spywares don't even have icons so we don't even realise. So always keep checking your available apps list. And even if you see an undercover agent then uninstall it as soon as you see it. And at the end, last but not the least,
Mistake No. 8 which is Do not checking permission requirements before installing apps. So we are always in a hurry, to eat, to drink, to work or after installing an app to instantly using it, so we don't notice it's permission requirements. We just allow permissions and it can be a grave mistake, due to this we easily allow some apps to access the important things like, location, media we don't even think if that permission is even important for that particular app.
